Doctrinal Statement of New Life Christian Church

  • Scripture

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, composed of the Old and New Testaments. It is the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and life.

    Scriptural References: 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Hebrews 4:12

  • The Nature of God

We believe in one eternal God, who has revealed Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is indivisible in essence, yet distinct in His ways of interacting with His creation. These distinctions—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—reflect different aspects of God's unified nature. God, in His fullness, was revealed in Jesus Christ, who is fully divine and fully human. The Holy Spirit is the active presence of God within believers, empowering and guiding them in their daily walk of faith.

Scriptural References: Deuteronomy 6:4; John 1:1-3; Matthew 28:19; Colossians 1:15

  • The Person and Work of Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died a substitutionary and atoning death, was bodily resurrected, and will return in power and glory. His work of salvation is central to our faith.

    Scriptural References: John 1:14; Philippians 2:6-8; Colossians 2:9; Romans 3:24-26; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

  • The Work of the Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit indwells believers at the moment of salvation, empowering them for godly living, spiritual growth, and service. The Spirit provides guidance, conviction, and the gifts necessary for ministry.

    Scriptural References: John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11

  • Man and Sin

We believe that all human beings are created in the image of God but have fallen into sin, and as a result, are spiritually dead and separated from God. Only through faith in Jesus Christ can individuals be reconciled to God and experience eternal life.

Scriptural References: Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-3; Romans 5:12-19

  • Salvation

We believe that salvation is an act of God's sovereign grace, bestowed upon those whom He has chosen. This process is entirely dependent on God's will, grace, and power, and it is not conditioned upon any merit or actions of individuals.

    • God's Sovereign Choice: Before the foundation of the world, God chose certain individuals for salvation according to His sovereign will. This election was not based on any foreseen merit, faith, or action on their part, but solely on God's grace and purpose.

Scriptural Support: Romans 8:29-30, Ephesians 1:4-5, John 6:37-39

    • Irresistible Grace: When God extends His saving grace to those He has chosen, they are drawn to Him without fail. This grace brings the elect to faith and repentance, overcoming any natural resistance that arises from human sinfulness.

Scriptural Support: John 6:37, Acts 13:48, Romans 9:16

    • Security in Christ: Those whom God has elected, redeemed by Christ, and drawn to faith by the Holy Spirit will persevere in faith until the end. True believers are eternally secure in their salvation, kept by the power of God, and will not fall away.

Scriptural Support: John 10:28-29, Philippians 1:6, Romans 8:38-39

  • The Church

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, composed of all true believers who are spiritually united through faith in Christ. The Church is called to worship, serve, and make disciples, proclaiming the Gospel to the ends of the earth.

Scriptural References: Ephesians 1:22-23; Colossians 1:18; Matthew 28:19-20

    • Baptism: We practice believer's baptism by immersion, symbolizing the believer's identification with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection.

Scriptural References: Romans 6:3-4; Matthew 28:19

    • Communion: We observe the Lord's Supper as a remembrance of Christ's sacrifice and a celebration of our unity in Him.

      Scriptural References: 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

  • The Christian Life

We believe that Christians are called to live lives of holiness, love, and service, empowered by the Holy Spirit. The grace of God transforms believers, enabling them to walk in faith and obedience.

    Scriptural References: Romans 12:1-2; Galatians 5:22-25; 1 Peter 1:14-16

  • Eschatology (End Times)

We believe in the future, physical return of Jesus Christ to judge the living and the dead, to establish His kingdom, and to bring eternal justice and peace. There will be a bodily resurrection of both the saved and the unsaved—the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to condemnation.

    Scriptural References: Matthew 24:30-31; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15

  • Marriage and Family

We believe that marriage is a sacred institution designed by God to be a lifelong union between one man and one woman. The family is foundational to a healthy society, and parents are called to raise their children in the knowledge and discipline of the Lord.

Scriptural References: Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:22-33; Ephesians 6:1-4
