Generosity that fuels ministry in Wellington and beyond.

Generosity

Giving for the Right Reasons

2 Corinthians 9:6-7
But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Why We Give

What is the tithe?

The tithe is the first tenth of our increase, returned to the Lord. It is not a fee and it is not a tip; it is worship. Scripture calls it holy: “And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’s: it is holy unto the LORD” (Leviticus 27:30). At New Life, the tithe carries the ongoing ministry of the church: the preaching of the Word, the care of the flock, and the everyday work of the household of faith.

How is a tithe different from an offering?

The tithe is the first tenth. An offering is anything given beyond it, freely and gladly, as the Lord leads. “Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase” (Proverbs 3:9). Both are worship; the tithe acknowledges that everything is His, and the offering says so with joy.

What does God say about giving?

He invites us to trust Him with it: “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it” (Malachi 3:10). God does not need our money; He is after our hearts, and He loveth a cheerful giver.

The Bible says the tithe is holy unto the LORD and that God loveth a cheerful giver. Giving is not a bill we pay; it is worship that puts God first and fuels the ministry of His house.

Online Giving FAQ

Is it safe to give online?

Yes. Gifts are processed through Planning Center Giving with bank-grade encryption. New Life never sees or stores your card or account numbers.

Can I use my debit or credit card?

Yes, along with Apple Pay or a direct bank transfer. A bank transfer costs the church the least, so more of your gift goes to ministry.

Are there any fees?

Not for you. Processing costs are part of the church’s stewardship, and the form gives you the option to cover them if you wish.

Can I make a one-time gift?

Yes. Choose “one time” in the form; no account is required.

What are my options for recurring giving?

Weekly, every other week, twice monthly, or monthly, starting on the date you choose. You can change or cancel anytime.

Can I change my gift after I set it up?

Yes. Open your profile in Church Center to adjust the amount, frequency, payment method, or fund at any time.

Will I receive a giving statement?

Yes. Your full history is available anytime in Church Center, and the church provides year-end contribution statements for tax purposes.

When is my gift withdrawn?

On the schedule you set; recurring gifts process on their chosen date.

I have another question. Who can I talk to?
